> Hemorroids

Hemorrhoids are one of the most common of all rectal ailments. They are enlargements of the vascular cushions in the wall of the anal canal and vary in size. Most hemorrhoids are internal, meaning you cannot see them. If you experience external hemorrhoids, there are most likely issues internally that are truly the cause. As a general rule they present for years before the symptoms arouse your concern. In the meantime, they may give rise to numerous indirect symptoms that one may not associate with hemorrhoids.

One thing that stands out to characterize hemorrhoids is the fact that symptoms will come in repeated attacks followed by periods of relief. This can lull you into a false hope that the hemorrhoids are gone, however, they are STILL present and will gradually increase and development until the next attack. For example, women who experience hemorrhoids while pregnant continue to have them unless they receive treatment. The use of salves and creams can give you temporary relief, but will not fix the root of the problem.

While there is not one clear cause of hemorrhoids, there are many factors that can make you more prone. Pregnancy is a clear cause due to increased pressure. Heavy lifting, inadequate fiber intake, prolonged sitting on the toilet, straining to have a bowel movement, prolonged standing, and deterioration of muscle tissue and age can also be contributing factors. By the age fifty, 50% of people will have hemorrhoids. By age 80 it is close to 100%.

Fissures

A fissure is a breakdown of the skin around the anus. It may present with stinging with wiping and/or pain and bleeding with bowel movements. Most times there is a hemorrhoid directly above the fissure which is causing irritation and at times slight drainage which allows breakdown of the skin. Treating the hemorrhoid and the use of All Purpose Salve, or Bottoms Up Balm will allow the fissure to heal.

Treatment

Dr. Jones offers an alternative treatment that does not require any cutting or surgery. It is an electronic treatment that eliminates hemorrhoids by causing a chemical change within the hemorrhoid itself, ultimately causing complete obliteration. The treatment usually takes 3-7 minutes per site. This treatment is non surgical and ambulatory in nature(you will be able to walk out of the clinic afterwards). There is no recovery time needed. Your first visit will take 45 minutes and follow up visits will be 30 minutes. Many people who suffer from hemorrhoids will have anywhere from 6-10 present internally. Two sites may be treated per visit.

Hemorrhoids affect many people, no matter your age or gender. Dr. Jones offers you a relatively quick and painless treatment option.
